About Classic Powertrain

Our History

Classic Powertrain was established by Steve Kenney, driven by his love for classic engines and determination to provide high-quality, affordable engine services to the UK classic car and motorsport community. With over 30 years of experience, Steve has worked on some of the most iconic engines in automotive history. His expertise span a range of engine types, from classic marques like MG, Triumph, Austin, Jaguar, and Land Rover, to high performance drag racing engines. Steve has a long history building hot-rod and competition V8s from Ford, Chevrolet, and Mopar, but he can turn his expertise to most engines, including inboard marine engines, agricultural engines, motorcycle engines, and generator / stationary engines. If it can fit on a pallet and transport to our workshop, Steve can rebuild it!

Our Services

Classic Powertrain specialises in engine rebuilding and engine reconditioning for classic (and modern-classic) British and American engines. We are not just performance engine rebuilders; we restore and recondition all engines from the 1940s until the early 2000s, including motorcycle, agricultural, and marine engines.

Our Commitment

At Classic Powertrain, we are committed to providing our customers with the highest level of service and quality workmanship. We strive to exceed your expectations and ensure your complete satisfaction with every visit. We provide a fully documented build report with every project, detailing exact measurements, specifications, and test results. Photographs are provided where appropriate. While we can't yet offer dyno testing in-house, we can facilitate and support full dyno testing for every build at cost.
